HEAR FROM OTHERS

Each horse and human share a unique partnership and connection. Hear is what some of your peers have learned and grown from working with Aurora Equine Partnerships.

I met Aurora volunteering for an equine nonprofit and was immediately blown away by her calm demeanor and approach to working on connections between human and horse. Integrating horsemanship into my life again with the confidence and ability to interact with most any horse in a positive, healthy bonding experience are things Aurora taught me that I never learned in my younger training years. I have become better at understanding myself, the horses I work with, and are foundations that I look forward to utilizing in the future. This Partnership Course is truly something that will help you bond with your horse(s)!

Working with Aurora has been absolutely game-changing for my OTTB! He was spooky and lacking confidence when I started working with her, which was especially apparent when we were jumping. Thanks to Aurora’s expertise in manufacturing situations where he could feel successful, his confidence has grown exponentially over the past few months. I went from having a horse that would shy away from any kind of difficult question to one who has started seeking out the answer for himself before it’s even asked of him. Aurora is an incredible horsewoman and teacher; I feel immensely grateful to have gotten the opportunity to learn from her and help my horse in the process!

I’ve never known anyone so tuned in to a horse’s being as Aurora. My horse Ziggy is very smart and although he is not mean, he came to me at 10 years old feisty and willful, untrained, and full of habits like throwing his head, nipping and resisting being led. Aurora found him charming. That’s when I knew there was hope. She saw right through his bad habits to his true nature. I asked her to work with Ziggy, and gradually, he became more responsive and willing, more relaxed, and stronger. And the energy he had directed to bad habits is now channeled into his playfulness and love of learning and engagement. He is the wonderful trail horse I have wanted. He moves with confidence and has learned to trust. What Aurora offers a horse and a rider is more than technique. She offers a path to something deeper and more enduring--earning trust that will change relationships and make breakthroughs possible. When I found Aurora, Ziggy and I both struck gold.

I first met Aurora at a non-profit organization and she is the one that fueled my curiosity for OTTBs. I had no previous experience working with thoroughbreds, but she helped me learn and understand so much about them.
Aurora showed me a completely new perspective when working with horses, especially the importance of forming a relationship through groundwork. The idea of a partnership and working as a team has positively impacted how I interact with my horses, even in the smallest ways.
Now that I have horses of my own, one of them being an OTTB, I have been able to apply all of the skills from Aurora. I am so grateful that I have been able to learn from her and that I have been able to gain confidence both in and out of the saddle!

I've seen Aurora's methods work successfully with many different horses of various backgrounds; from the off-the-track thoroughbred to the neglected broodmare rescued from the slaughter pipeline, Aurora's method sets a foundation for horse and rider to continue their training in the discipline of their choice.

I'm grateful to have crossed paths with Aurora, allowing me to learn from her. I've used Aurora's methods while working with a young rescue horse who I taught to halter, trailer, and greet new situations with curiosity instead of fear. I also frequently consult her on my two senior horses if I have behavioral questions or concerns.

I wish I saw this commitment to creating a positive relationship between horse and rider in the horse world more. I highly recommend Aurora to anyone looking to build a relationship with their horse built on communication and trust.

Before I met Aurora, I had always had a love and fascination with horses but never had opportunities to immerse myself in their world. I started with zero experience and very little confidence in my ability to work with horses. Aurora has taught me what the partnership between a horse and a human should look like. I have learned and grown so much from being her student, from the basic care of the horse to learning how to create a bond that will last for an eternity. The commitment and passion that she brings when working with horses are truly inspiring, and I look forward to seeing how the people and horses she helps grow from the opportunities she has presented!

I have been riding for 8 years and in that time I have never met someone as amazing and unique as Aurora! All my experience was with western riding and transitioning to english was a change. When she first brought me out to meet her horses I could tell she was the kind of teacher who really wants to help you reach your goals, no matter what they may look like. Aurora has taught me everything I know about dressage & english riding and I always learn something new from her. Aurora never pushes you harder than you can take and she truly believes in creating a bond and partnership with horses. She has made so many opportunities possible for me that a younger me could only dream about, including my first lease on a OTTB named Sheldon! Aurora has become a role model and a friend, and I can't wait to keep learning from her!

I met Aurora when I moved to a new barn and needed assistance with rehab work for my two horses and help for me as I had a broken wrist. I thought I was basically going to have help in the "babysitting mode" but I was wrong - Aurora has helped me with so much more. She is incredibly intuitive as to the needs of my horses and their mindset and physical limitations on any given day. My horses are "performance horses" and were used to being worked regularly but were not strong enough to maintain that schedule while they regained weight and muscle tone and generally rehabbed from a stressful situation. Aurora coached me with exercises that not only helped my horses physical needs but also helped them have a fun but interesting job while getting stronger. She also helped me compensate for my lack of mobility with the broken wrist with creative (but safe) riding ideas. I am having fun while growing and getting the horses back in shape (and recovering from the broken wrist) and am excited to take the journey to new places as we move out of rehab into regular training. We are blessed to have met Aurora and to be able to work with her and call her coach and friend.
